CollectEon

Privacy policy

Effective October 8, 2026. In short: CollectEon only keeps what it needs to save your lists, never shows ads, and never sells or shares your data for marketing.

Who we are

CollectEon is an app for tracking the movies, series, anime, games, music and books you love. It's made and run by an independent developer, Denys ("we", "us"). You can reach us any time at supportcollecteon@gmail.com.

Using CollectEon without an account

If you continue as a guest, your collections, scores, notes, progress and cover photos are stored only on your device (in the app's local storage). We don't receive them. Deleting the app or using Settings → Delete all data on this device removes them.

What we collect when you create an account

  • Your email address, to sign you in with a one-time code and to identify your account.
  • Your username, which you choose. It's shown on lists you share.
  • If you sign in with Google: the basic profile Google shares with us (your email address, and your name and profile picture if Google provides them).
  • Your collections and what you add to them: titles, statuses, your scores, playtime, season and episode progress, notes, and cover photos you upload. We store these so they sync between your devices.
  • Technical data needed to run the service, such as sign-in times and your device's IP address in our service provider's security logs.

We don't use analytics, advertising or tracking tools, and we don't build profiles of you.

Usernames and shared lists

Your lists are private unless you choose to share one. When you turn on sharing for a list, anyone with its link can see your username, the list's name, and its titles, statuses and your scores. Your notes are shown only if you also turn on Show my notes for that list. Your playtime, progress, email address and uploaded photos are never shown.

You can turn sharing off at any time, and the link stops working straight away. Someone who used Add to my CollectEon keeps their own copy of the titles, but not your scores, statuses or notes. If you see a shared list that shouldn't be there, use Report this list on its page or email us.

How we use it

  • To sign you in and keep your account secure.
  • To save your collections and sync them across your devices.
  • To send the emails the app needs, such as your sign-in code. We don't send marketing emails.
  • To answer you when you contact support.

We process this data to provide the service you asked for and, for security logs, because of our legitimate interest in keeping the service safe.

Looking up titles

When you search for a title, the text you type is sent to our server, which looks it up with TMDB (movies, series and anime) or RAWG (games). We don't send them your email or account details. Posters and images are then loaded directly from TMDB's and RAWG's image servers, so those services can see your device's IP address, as with any website image. The details we receive are refreshed regularly and kept only as part of your lists.

Service providers

We use a small number of trusted providers to run CollectEon. They process data only on our behalf:

  • Supabase: our database, sign-in and file storage. Your account data is stored in the EU (Frankfurt, Germany).
  • Resend: delivers sign-in emails.
  • GitHub Pages: hosts the website at collecteon.net.
  • TMDB and RAWG: title information and images, as described above.
  • Google: Google sign-in, if you choose it, and the web font the app uses.
  • jsDelivr: delivers part of the app's code.

Some of these providers may process data outside your country, including in the United States. Where that happens, they use safeguards required by law, such as standard contractual clauses. We never sell your personal data.

How long we keep it

We keep your account data until you delete your account. When you remove a title, its details and notes are cleared from your account copy. Sign-in logs kept by our providers are deleted automatically after a limited time.

Deleting your account

You can delete your account at any time in the app: Settings → Delete account. This permanently deletes your account, collections, notes and uploaded photos on every device. You can also email us and we'll do it for you.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal data, to object to or restrict how we use it, and to complain to your local data protection authority. To use any of these rights, email supportcollecteon@gmail.com. We'll reply within 30 days.

Children

CollectEon isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their personal data. If you believe a child has given us personal data, contact us and we'll delete it.

Security

Data is sent over encrypted connections (HTTPS). Each account can only access its own data, enforced by the database itself. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your data.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top and, for important changes, let you know in the app.
